Members competing in the Special Olympics are getting prepared for this fun and exciting event.
On Friday, May 2nd, Henderson County hosted the 2025 Special Olympics. We had several outstanding performances from Emma Martin, Zoe Johnson, Hunter Redden, Tra Davis-Durant, Layne Hood, and Brylin Boyle. As the start of the Olympics, Elias Tribe and Brylin Boyle ran with the famous torch. “My experience was really enjoyable, I didn’t understand how big of an event it was for the community and it really broadened my perspective to see how much we can really do to help others. I had a great time and fortunately I was able to help Brylin carry the torch to start the Olympics. We had to run almost a quarter of the track and halfway through she looked at me happily and said she was tired,” said Tribe. Overall, this event is a fun and interactive way for these students to shine!
